UTAP Funding

UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training. This benefit is to encourage more union members to go for skills upgrading. Union members who initiate training on their own could enjoy 50% discount off *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year training benefits for courses under Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) per year.

NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of unfunded course fees, for courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2025.

*Unfunded course fee refers to the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidies. This excludes material fees, registration fees, misc. fees etc.

You can apply for UTAP as long as you are an NTUC member. To be eligible for UTAP, all you need to do is meet the following conditions:

1. Paid-up union membership before course commencement, throughout the whole course duration and at the point of claim, only an upfront deduction is allowed before course commencement
2. Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP, and training must commence within the supported period
3. UTAP funding is only applicable on the course fee not funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding
4. The unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above
5. You must have achieved a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any
